Kids helping kids

Linton Camp School

Anahera Brokenshaw was asked to complete a project for “Living our Learning.”  The students were asked to choose a charity to help.  Anahera researched Palmerston Nth charities and decided to help StarLight. She organised a toy drive for the children receiving mental health care at CAFS (Child, Adolescent and Family Service).  She also filled a number of gift bags with items like shampoo, soap and shower gel.  When Anahera had completed her project, she invited Kathy Simpson from StarLight and Nicky Crooks from CAFS to the school to see her PowerPoint presentation and to receive the gifts.  Kathy and Nicky were blown away by the professionalism of Anahera’s presentation and her organisational ability.
